Supporting the Library through fundraising and volunteerism.

 Our first 2019 full Membership Meeting will be Monday, February 25th from 6.30-7.30pm in the lower level meeting room.



The Friends of the Fort Lee Public Library is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that supports library services through fundraising and volunteerism. We fulfill our volunteer and fundraising goals through the work of our Committees.

In conjunction with the library’s plans and goals, the Friends will decide which services it will support and fund.

How Are The Friends Organized?
It is not a requirement to join a committee to be Friend, but for those interested, we have two standing Committees: Membership and Book Sale.

Membership is responsible for being at local events to encourage new members to join or solicit donations from the public. These committee members will be at a table at each event throughout the year, as well as be our most public-facing members who promote joining the Friends and getting people involved. They will be responsible for finding new events and organizations to reach out to, also they make sure that Marketing has created the right posters, flyers, membership forms, etc. that are necessary for each location or event. Are you friendly and want to encourage funding for library services? This is the group for you.

Book Sale is in charge of planning, set up, working at, and cleaning up after the annual library Book Sale that happens each September. The Marketing committee also provides any necessary promotion and signage for the Book Sale. If you have ideas for how to make the Book Sale more exciting and don't mind sorting through books and working at the sale -- this is the group for you!

2019 is a significant year for the Fort Lee Public Library – it's the 100th anniversary! As a special gift to the Fort Lee Public Library, many residents and library patrons wanted to start this organization to show their commitment to assist the Fort Lee Public Library in its goal to be a key asset in Fort Lee.

If you join for the 2019 membership year, you will forever be known as a Founding Friend. Also, if your dues are paid before the full membership meeting on February 25, 2019, you will be entered to win one (1) ticket (a $50 value) to “Evening in the Stacks” – the Library’s 100th anniversary celebration on June 1, 2019. Ticket raffle to take place during the membership meeting.

All money collected, less minimal expenses, will be used to support library services. Donations may be made with or without membership dues. At this time, we prefer checks. We hope that everyone becomes a Friend!

Because the Friends is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, your membership dues and any other donations to the Friends of the Fort Lee Public Library may be deducted from your US federal taxes. Email confirmation of your 2018 donations were sent to all donors/members by January 31, 2019.

Please complete the FOUNDING FRIEND MEMBERSHIP FORM, include check (made out to Friends of the Fort Lee Public Library), and put them in an envelope marked FRIENDS. You may submit to the library circulation desk or mail to:
