Notary

 

The Fort Lee Public Library provides Notary services to our patrons free of charge. Please review our procedures and restrictions regarding this service.


Limited notary service is generally provided weekdays 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Please call ahead to confirm that a Notary is available at the time you wish to come. Reference Desk at 201-592-3614, Ext. 1

Notary Service is limited to three (3) documents per person, per visit.

Notary Service is available free of charge for Fort Lee Library Cardholders. All others, $1 per document.

A valid current photo identification with a signature is required. A current driver’s license or passport is recommended.

The person whose signature is being notarized must be present with appropriate identification.

The Library does not supply witnesses. Witnesses must accompany the person whose document is being notarized and must supply current valid photo identification. The Notary cannot act as a witness.

The Library provides only basic notary services. Notary service is not available for mortgage or real estate documents, deeds, wills, living wills, living trusts, codicils or depositions.

Documents in any language other than English cannot be notarized at this facility.

Notaries cannot provide legal advice or counseling regarding documents.

Notaries reserve the right to decline notary services in their absolute discretion.
