Getting a Library Card
To apply for a library card, you will need to provide proof of Fort Lee residency. We accept any one of the following:
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license
- Bank statement
- Credit card bill
- Rental lease
- Tax bill
Your library card’s benefits
- Borrow books, CDs, and DVDs from the Fort Lee Library’s collection. This includes over 10,000 items from the world language collection in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Spanish
- Borrow items from the other BCCLS libraries
- Place requests through JerseyCat, a statewide interlibrary loan program (i.e., outside BCCLS).
- Access your library account
- Borrow museum passes
- Attend programs for children, teens and adults
- Use public computer workstations
- Volunteer as an adult or teen
- Access Fort Lee & BCCLS digital offerings, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, streaming video, eMagazines, online databases and more
Please remember
- Each card can have up to 50 items checked out at any one time.
- There is a limit of 7 DVDs per card.
- Items may be returned at the Fort Lee Library or any BCCLS library.
- While the Library does not charge overdue fines for books and other items, museum passes do accrue fees when returned late.
- When borrowing items sent from another library, please be aware that other BCCLS libraries do charge overdue fines.
- You may check your account online to view due dates and renew items.
- Privileges will be restricted on a card that has fees of $10 or more.
