Volunteering

MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Want to make a difference in a simple, hands-on way? Fort Lee Library cardholders can volunteer their time to help with small but meaningful tasks that support our library and the community that uses it. Whether it’s keeping an adopted section of shelves in order, tending to our community garden, or helping deliver books to those who can’t visit in person, there are plenty of ways to get involved and give back—no special skills required.

Books on Wheels volunteer application

Volunteers adopt a section of shelves to maintain. This is the perfect opportunity for anyone who loves organizing, especially when it’s organizing in numerical or alphabetical order. The hours are flexible; work can be completed anytime during library business hours.

Adopt-A-Shelf volunteer application

Some of our patrons are homebound or unable to come into the library to pick up their items. This is where our Books on Wheels program is crucial; volunteers provide home delivery of materials to Fort Lee and Englewood Cliffs residents. All you need is a driver’s license and a personal vehicle.

Adult Garden volunteer application

If you enjoy the outdoors and don’t mind getting your hands dirty, help us tend to our newly created community garden. Planting, weeding, watering, and everything else involved with keeping our outdoor space thriving. No green thumb or experience needed.
